The Brief History About Datu in the Philippines

Years before,Mr.Ferdinand Magellan landed in the Philippines and colonized the Islands. The Filipino natives at that time had already their own form of government wherein the leader was called “DATU” or “PRINCE”.

Usually,a DATU is a respected person because his rank is equivalent to that of a King inspite of his status in the society.
The words of the DATU were considered as laws and nobody could transgress this laws. But as the islands of the Philippines were subjugated to Christianity, these natives were later became Christians.Their system of gov’t.was transformed and was patterned to that of the Spanish government.

In Luzon and Visayas, these DATU’s and their clans were converted to Christianity while in Mindanao, the southern part of the Philippines little had been left with these Royal Blood Filipino people. If there is,they are within the clans of Muslim Filipinos living in Cotabato City,Marawi City,or Sulu.

Although these Muslims clans preserve their own culture and tradition, they’re also open to assimilation to western culture and traditon. When we hear about prince and princesses in the south, who belong to the royal blood,we tend to raise our eyebrows ‘coz we think it is too good to be true. These are the clans that are left centuries ago.As Filipinos,we should be proud of them ‘coz they still preseve the culture and tradition of the true Filipino people.

Indeed,I am a true DATU/or Royal Prince because I came from a true descent Royal Blood Family in Cotabato City. A blood descendant of royalty. My royal respected short name is “HADJI DATU RAZUL”.

Pls.read about the history of Datu/or Sultan in the Philippines.

Inday at Deal or No Deal!

November 25th, 2007 by alexstaines

Here is one of Inday’s misadventures in Kapamilya Deal or No Deal! I’m sure Kris would really faint upon meeting “Inday”.

******************************************************

Kris:
sa nag-iisang katanungang Deal or no Deal.

Kris: Ok Inday, choose a briefcase.

Inday: Kris, I would opt for case #4 please.

Kris: Briefcase # 4… si Sharmel. Inday, matanong ko lang, how did you come up with the number 4?

Inday: Oh, do you really want to know Kris?

Kris: Oo naman. I’m sure kaya ko naman maintindihan yung sasabihin mo eh.

Inday:
The number 4 was acquired based on a probability distribution function
that involves integrating up to an area greater than or equal to that
random number which should be generated between 0 and 1 for proper
distributions.

Kris: Syet. tanong tanong pa kasi eh.

Kris: Ok Inday, choose 6 briefcases to open.

Inday : I would opt for 7, 24, 12, 2, 15 and 20.

Inday:
Why is that? As if I can change the outcome if we’re to open a case
each time I blurt out a number as opposed to opening each case
immediately one after the other right?

Inday:
Kris, I guess that’s not the way I was taught in grade school. You see,
I was taught that we should only use the comparative form of the word
or add “ER” to the adjective if we are comparing two things. And since
it is only the first briefcase that we are going to open, we have
nothing to compare it to. Am I right?

[natahimik ang audience at napaisip]

Kris: Oo nga no!

Kris: Sige Natalie, Buksan mo na.

[Ang laman ng briefcase 7 ay Piso… Palakpakan ang mga tao]

Kris: Good start! Ano yung next case mo ulit?

Inday : Case number 24 please.

Inday:
Oh my goodness Kris, how long have you been doing this? Have you ever
encountered a value that is lower than a peso in this game? Tell me, is
there any value left lower than the one we just opened? Sheesh.

[Napaisip ulit ang audience at natahimik]

Kris: Aarrgghh!!!!

Inday:
Ahh Kris, to save more time can you tell Banker that I’m not interested
in his first offer. In the history of this game of chance, I have yet
to see someone accept a first offer from the banker. It’s quite
pathetic and pretentious for contestants to pause and look around the
audience as if asking for advice before ultimately rejecting the first
offer. I mean come on, isn’t that a waste of airtime?

Banker: Potahhh!!!

Ano name nya?

Inday: Ahh, that’s my master Mr. Montemayor.

Kris: Ahhh sya pala yun, how cute naman pala eh. Sige sir, give us a number.

Mr. Montemayor: Hi Kris, good evening. I’m a fan. I choose number 12 please.

Kris: Ano Inday ok ba yung number 12?

Inday: Whatever, we shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds us anyway. Go ahead.

Kris: [taray naman] Sofie, buksan na!

[ang laman ng briefcase 12 ay 5,000]

Kris: Good job! What’s his name?

Inday: Ahh, that’s my on again off again boyfriend, Dodong the gardener.

Kris: Ooohh, sya pala yun. Ok Dodong, give us a number!

Dodong: Hi babes, I choose briefcase 9 if it’s ok with you. If not, it’s ok with me as long as it’s ok with you.

Kris: Ano raw? Inday, number 9 daw ok say0?

Inday : Yes Kris, it’s fine with me.

Inday: YOU!!! How dare you invade my moment!

Nagkatitigan sina Inday at Ederlyn.

Inday: What? Can you speak up? What are you mumbling up there. Can somebody give her a microphone please?

Kris: Ano ba!!

Nangh inayang ang mga audience… Ang mga natirang values ay 250, 1K, 20K, 50K, and 500K.

Inday: NooOoo…. (sabay tingin kay Dodong at napapaluha), how could you… Dodong: I’m so sorry Inday, please forgive me.

Kris: Hayyy, drama again.

Kris:
Inday, are you okay? Ang offer ni banker ay 99 thousand pesos. ‘Sing
Is it a Deal or No
Deal?

Tahimik

Kris: Wait lang, kung mapapansin ninyo we have only have 5 cases left, and among those 5, apat doon ay mas maliit na value…

Inday: Kris, do you mind? Can I do my own thinking?

Kris: Taray to the max! (pabulong sa sarili)

Ind

ay:
Ok, I’m ready. Upon looking at the reality of the situation, 80% of the
cases left have at least 49K less than the banker’s offer. The only way
I can do better than what is offered is that if my case contains the
500k or I’d get to open one of the four lower values. But I have to
keep in mind that there’s only 20% probability that this would happen.
I have to take note, however, that the banker’s offer is roughly around
15% lower than the offer I expected based on the arithmetic mean of the
values left.

Kris: Lorddd… panaginip ba ‘to?Ayokonaaa….

Inday: Accepting a deal for less than the mean should generally be regarded as a weak decision so I would say, NO DEAL!

Sige Inday, go ahead and choose 1 briefcase!

Inday: Ok Kris, I choose briefcase #5 please?

Kris: Briefcase #5! Mimi bago mo buksan yan I would first like to thank Figliarina by Schubizz for my sandals, Bambi Fuentes for my hair and make-up and Pepsi Herrera for my gown tonight.

Kris: Ok Mimi, buk…

Inday: Ahh Kris, can I also take time to thank a few people? I mean, I did save us a few minutes of airtime right?

Inday:
Thanks! Yes, I would like to thank Frank Provost for my hair and
make-up, Jimmy Choo for my sandals and my dear friend Oscar dela Renta
for my gown tonight.

BLAG!!
kanyang oras.

Inday: Oh, and thanks to the people of Cartier for sending me these nice earrings for tonight!

An Interview to the life of HRH Prince Monsour Datu Zainal Abraham Andavit sa Buayan “M” in Israel.

  • An Encouragement From the Life of The Royal Majesty Prince Monsour Datu Zainal Abraham Andavit sa Buayan “M”.

By: Thelma E. Tagal

Morning at 10, November 6, 2007. I was walking and exploring the magnificent beauty of the city when a group of Filipino men under the shade of the tree chit chatting caught my awareness. I thought something is serious because their facial expression was unusual. They were all tranquil but with a little bit of buoyancy talking to each other. Because of my curiosity, I tried to draw near towards them. But to my frustration no one say hello, for the reason that their attention were all focused to a man whom I thought who have a respected manner of communication ability to draw people’s attention towards him. He has an extraordinary attribute that people are able to believe what he’s talking. Moreover, he has magnetic manner of drawing people’s interest…he is alluring and have the impression of being a low profile individual. At the back of my mind questions arose. I remember his face, I said to myself, isn’t it that the Prince of Mindanao that was once a cover story of FOCAL MAGAZINE. The indication of his image is amazing in the sense that he’s an ordinary person more than others.

At the start, I was apprehensive to move toward to him thinking that he will pay no attention to me. However, something estranged were pushing my feet to walk and come closer to him. Few minutes past while I was looking at him he finally said goodbye to a group of men who were listening and looking at him with respect and honor. I hurriedly run after him then gently I grabbed his shoulder. He looked at me with a flabbergasted looked but then it was been a big opportunity for me to smile at him. At that moment in time, I had given a chance to talk to him but to my surprised, he invited me to his own apartment.

All the way to his apartment, I got the nerve to introduce myself and he promptly looks at me with a very friendly smile. My heart was relieved from the apprehension of being ignored. Then I started to talked about a man featured in FOCAL MAGAZINE. I told him that I’m sure that it’s you, to my amazement he said well thank you for reading about that…with full assurance he said, oooh… yes, I am! I quickly told him my intention and my curiosity to talk amid him…he said why? Then I diplomatically answered him of my purpose and my intention that I want to know more about him and to talk about his life as well as his concerns about the life of the Filipinos in Israel and including those special issues that concerns him as a Royal Prince.

In our long hours of conversation, I noticed that he’s really not an ordinary person but still he remain humble. His modesty makes me more curious of asking him many questions, as I wanted to dig out his personal identity. I have many whys. Why until now he wanted to hide the truth from the public? Compared to those, other prominent people wanted to be in a public image all the time. They wanted to be always in the front pages in all kinds of magazine, and other big television channels to say publicly their nobleness and their accomplishments…but in reversed; he remained silent throughout the years. Even though some well-known media personalities like of ABS-CBN wish to have him as their quest in their television programs and also some well known journalist wanted him to be featured in their own magazines. However, those attempts were turn down to nothing. He then managed to remain silent and unknown to the public until one of the FOCAL MAGAZINE columnist heard about him and tried to convince him for an interview. At first,HRH Prince Monsour hesitated to be interviewed but then Mr. Siador used his convincing power to let him say, yes, without regret. He believed that FOCAL magazine is a reliable magazine because it speaks the truth and uphold personal and social integrity of its people and especially FOCAL MAGAZINE is concerned of promoting our own heritage and culture. FOCAL MAGAZINE has its own platform that’s why “I love to read FOCAL MAGAZINE ”, he said. (Please refer to the interview of Mr. Yoseff Siador, FOCAL MAGAZINE Issue/Date #_14 Oct.2007. He then decided to reveal himself to the Filipino community. So that his fellow Filipinos would understand and appreciate him. He has the passion in his heart to serve the sick and underprivileged. That’s why he chose to be a private nurse rather than to allow his people to serve him. Not withstanding being a full-royal blooded Muslim and having the title of a Royal Prince. He chose this Holy land because according to him this is the Holiest place of all the worlds…why? In His explanation and his interpretation, as a Muslim, he feels the strong presence of God in this place… and the magnificent of this place makes him more optimistic to stay for more years and enjoy his life while he have many years to stay.

October 13, 2007, he decided to go to the Philippines not because of pleasure but purely on business matters as a Royal Prince. His manager got him the iterinary during his visit to avoid rigid questions from the people concerned in the Ministry of Interior in Israel. However, still they questioned his capability of having a lot of expensive jewelries because they’re afraid that the immigration will hold them for security purposes. He arrived then in Manila and stayed in the Manila Hotel where his bank is near. He went to the Philippines for confidentiality. Only his security personnel knew his arrival and they’re alert of his protection. Despite of the secrecy of his arrival in  Manila, Philippines. Still some of the Philippines media individual learned that he is in Manila. A few of them attempted to have an ambush interview amid him but he instructed one of his friend, a journalist to be in charge of the situation that’s why not one of the media community were able to air his arrival.

One of the big reasons he went for a short vacation to the Philippines was because of the transfer of wealth on his name.He said he is entitled to inherit that wealth because he deserves it, since he received the crowned as a Prince. At first, he didn’t know that he is actually a Prince. He thought that he won’t get the position as a Prince because as a full blooded Muslim bisexual is not allowed especially in their clan. It is a very big insult and downgrading on his family reputation and dignity that he is a gay. But he thank God because his family and his clan are able to accept him. However, they have no choice because he is entitled to get that position as a Prince. One more reason he went to the Philippines for a short vacation is that the Central Bank of the Philippines called his attention to report immediately to fix all his bank account names. His presence was highly needed because it’s not just an ordinary transaction but it’s a transaction of a billion dollar wealth. During his stay in the Philippines, he visited his rest house in Cotabato City, his secret mansion in Green Hills,San Juan, Forbes Park ,Makati City, his tenanted condos in Manila ,and rest house in Tagaytay City. He went their thinking that he would completely rest but when the populace learned of his arrival, they started to knock on his door. With no choice, he then served his people through giving them financial assistance. He distributed some amounts of his money to the poor thinking that it would be a huge help in their life. But then, they kept on coming back to ask some more money. He then flew back to Manila because his Doctor advised him to take a rest before he return back to Israel.

His life in the Philippines is completely different from here in Israel. In the Philippines, he’s guarded with full military service men. He’s tough, what he says, he says. His time is expensive and rigid; he works hard for his people. His command is sharp. The law is in his hand. He command people to do his will, he instruct people to work for him, his men obey him and he can say whatever he wants but being a Prince he’s considerate and have the heart that treat his men as human like him. However, as I recall his story he said, there is no peace being one of a kind, I mean someone who has everything because you can’t buy happiness. That’s why he said he would prefer to stay in the squatter area in Manila like Tondo, eating three times a day surrounded by people who loves him rather than being a Prince without happiness. He added that these were the reason why “he prefers to stay away from our place the Philippines. He prefers to serve other people especially the sick because there is peace in his mind.” Here in Israel, he loves to take care sick people for free no salary. He said this is a most dignified job that not every celebrities, every Prince of the world able to do by themselves. This is a hard job but I love it, he said. He loves to serve rather than his people in Mindanao to serve him…he loves also to get actual experiences because he considers it as the way he can put himself into a pedestal that he can feel what other people are undergoing.  He said that, his responsibility as a Prince in Mindanao is not an ordinary status to manage with. He needs to work hard but he has men and women designated to do the job…his men contact him through all kinds of communications. Majority of his workers are his relatives especially that he have to support his clan spiritually, financially. He needs to see to it that all his clans have a good life because that’s very important for him. The success that he has is for his clan but the problem is that they hardly accept him being a gay because for them it’s detestable in the society. However, he’s very optimistic that someday, somehow they will understand what he’s going through…as of now only he has mother who understood him and accepted him fully.

His main goal in the Philippines is focus on Orphanage project because he believes that supporting the underprivileged is not a joke. You need to use all your means to hire personnel to take care of them to support their existence, to provide them life, shelter food and livelihood assistance. But for the mean time his project is not as colossal as other Princes and Princesses in the world have. He would like to start little by little to serve and give protection for these people. He also has planned to serve the Christian community because his heart is amid the Christian people in the Philippines. He wants to be an advocate of reconciliation so that Muslim and Christian aliked would walk hand in hand towards a peaceful Philippines. He added that Philippines a wonderful place especially in Mindanao but as long as there is no peace it is impossible to live with because of its mass insurgency with the rebel Muslims fighting amid the government soldiers because of their beliefs. But he’s hoping that one day his objective would spread to Muslim and Christian alike. In fact, he is willing to use his wealth for the sake of peace in the Philippines particularly in Mindanao.

As a writer, I would rather say that the Filipino community is very fortunate to have you in Israel. Hope that you’ll contribute a lot to the improvement of caregivers concern in the Holy Land and serve as an encouragement to our fellow Filipinos to stretch out their patience at work…Mabuhay ang Prinsipe Ng Mindanao, Philippines!!!The Royal Majesty Prince Monsour Datu Zainal Abraham Andavit Buayan “M” (Hadji Datu Razul).

I literally threw money and took delight in the cheers of everybody in close proximity-children,women,men and the seniors. All who came closest to me.

I’m generous to a fault,I’m very fond of going to the casino. But I’m not a gambler.I just love the ambience of the casino.I love life!I’m very happy w/ my life.I’ve got lots of friends around the globe.

“If I HAVEN to live my life all over again,I would not change anything-not my money, how I spent it and where it has led me to.No! I would live exactly the same way.And yes,I have had a full life.
